Giving Glory to the God Who Lives in Me

Philippians 4:13 (“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”) comes to mind when I am giving glory to God. “Well wait, Jennifer! You said through Christ. What do you mean giving glory to God? Didn’t Philippians say Christ? What gives?!?”

They are one and the same. Let me explain…

We believe in a God who is not just one being, but, in fact, is three in one. We have God the Father (in Heaven), God the Son (on Earth) and God the Holy Spirit (within us) and each One lives within me. He will come and dwell in each of us when we invite Him in. We have to open the door and invite Him into our hearts. That’s how I know that He lives in me…. my door is wide open for Him to find a dwelling place there!

It’s so hard to know how to handle this world that we live in. As humans, we struggle because living life is a struggle. This world shows us, at times, nothing but chaos and fear. While that will still exist when we ask God to come into our lives, He helps us through and gives us comfort in His Holy Word, the Bible. I once heard it said that the Bible is God’s love letters to His people. Just like we have a living God, we also have His living Word. We can read the same passage multiple times, yet it will mean something different depending on the circumstances that we find ourselves in, at that moment.

So, what do you think? Will you take that leap of faith? Will you welcome God to live in you, too?

What did I learn from this? I will give glory to God in my valleys and my mountaintops. I will give glory to God is my sadness and my joy. I will give glory to God in my singing and my silence. I will give God the glory in my wondering and my questioning. I will give God the glory in my strength and in my weakness. I will give Him the glory because He is ALL THINGS to me.

There is nothing in this world that can beat that! NOTHING!! (Related post: Only God….)

So, what can you learn from this? Will you take a chance? Will you surrender your will to God? Just know that God wants our questions and our wondering because that means that we are actively talking to Him. He wants to help us and He wants us to know that we can trust Him to get us through, especially when we are going through difficult times. Actually… what do you have to lose?
