The Hands, Feet and Voice of God

Doing God’s will on Earth helps us to be the hands, feet and voice of God. What’s really neat is that there will be a ripple effect that continues far past what we can see. Our purpose is not to judge anyone but to spread His Holy Word by doing His Work for ALL of His people. Some will go into ministry through their service to others. Some will preach His Good Word and give encouragement to a very broken world. Some will write, some will help build, some will teach, some will speak, some will create, some will sing, and some will…. do whatever it is that God tells them to do.

You see, we are ALL called to be His hands, feet and voice. It doesn’t need to be big and there is certainly nothing too small that He can’t use for His purpose. It’s the following, the listening and the doing of His will is where God will help us to reach others. When our actions are designated for His purpose that is where we can do the most good for His people. We all need to feel God’s love, unfortunately sometimes what we get instead is our version of His vengeance. We all need to feel God’s grace, yet sometimes what we get is our version of His condemnation. We all need to feel God’s mercy, but sometimes what we get instead is our version of His listings of how we fall short in this life.

Yes, there are things that God states in the Bible of actions that are an abomination to Him. It’s important for those things to be shared with others. However, how can we teach of God’s love and grace and mercy while making others feel as though they cannot ever escape their past? Is that what our God would do? One of the most beautiful, redeeming things about our God is that while He finds us where we are, He never leaves us there. When we show others the hands, feet and voice of God, we also need to show them the VERY SAME LOVE AND GRACE AND MERCY that He has shown us. We have ALL sinned and fallen short in this world. That hasn’t kept our God from loving and saving us from that sin. In fact, He loved us so much that He sent down His Son, Jesus, to take up our sin and offered Himself to suffer and die on the cross and rose again just so that we can be redeemed through His sacrifice! So, make sure that you are thinking about that as you go about doing your work for God. The same God who has forgiven us and washed us anew, has done and will do the very same thing for everyone else. Now they can go and be the hands and feet and voice of God. Isn’t that just an awesome thing to see?! It’s that super awesome ripple effect!! (Related post: In Service to Others)

What did I learn from this? I just love hearing the variety of ways that God chooses to use His people to spread His word. I also love to know that when God has chosen that person, they are being uplifted in a way that is beautiful and touching, so much so that it will bring tears to my eyes. His purpose for that person doesn’t need to be validated by the world. The only validation needed is the love of our God. Hallelujah and a huge AMEN!!!

So, what can you learn from this? When God calls you for something, you don’t need the permission of the world to do it. You do it because He has called you for a purpose. You may not think that what you are being called to do is a big thing, but it is if it helps even one person, then you can know that it is you fulfilling His work in the world. Pray and listen for His guidance as you go and be the hands and feet and voice of God. You never know the impact that you will have on someone else. It may have been the very thing that they prayed for.
